Zambia

Zambia is an adventurous and exciting destination. With warm and welcoming people – who come from more than 70 distinct tribes – and a host of natural attractions, make this an excellent holiday choice.

Zambia takes its name from the Zambezi River, which rises in the northwest of the country and loops round to form a natural border with Zimbabwe in the south. The steady flow of Africa’s fourth-longest river creates cascades and rapids, on which can be enjoyed some of the world’s most exhilarating white water rafting. The river has also created Zambia’s most recognisable and popular attraction, Victoria Falls, or the ‘smoke that thunders’ as its known locally.

Superb national parks are another feature of Zambia travel, with a choice of luxury lodges and safari camps in which to stay. Walking safaris in South Luangwa National Park, the country’s premier wildlife venue, are a terrific way to experience the bush. Safari vehicles and riverboats are the other means with which to see the vast array of wildlife that calls this spectacular country home.
