Qatar Airways and IndiGo Sign Codeshare

Qatar Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with IndiGo, India’s largest passenger airline.

This agreement will enable Qatar Airways to place its code on all IndiGo flights between Doha and Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad allowing travellers more accessibility to India.

The first codeshare flights started operating from 18 Dec 2020.

Following an increased demand for flights between Nairobi & Mombasa during the festive December January period, Skyward Express have increased seat capacity on some of their flights by use of a larger Jet Aircraft Fokker 70 on Fridays & Sundays between 15 Dec and 05 Jan. Note: these flights will depart & arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Malawi Airlines

Malawi Airlines has introduced new flights from Nairobi.  Effective March 29 2017, a Boeing 737-700 will start flying to Lilongwe four times a week as follows:

Depart Nairobi at 06:15 and arrive in Lilongwe at 07:30, every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday;

Depart Lilongwe at 17:45 and arrive in Nairobi at 21:00, every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday;

Free checked baggage allowance is 2 pieces, 23kg max each for Economy class and 3 pieces, 23kg max each for Business class.

With daily morning flights to Johannesburg out of their Lilongewe hub you can now connect between Nairobi and Johannesburg four times a week. Malawi Airlines is majority owned by and managed by Ethiopian Airlines.

Etihad Airways – Separate Tickets Policy

From February 1, guests travelling on separate Passenger Name Record PNR(s) as a result of purchasing separate tickets are not eligible for “through check-in” to their final destination.

This policy also applies to all Etihad to other Airlines flights. Baggage will not be through tagged to final destination.

  • Any guests holding separate Passenger Name Record PNR(s) with separate ticket(s) will need to re-check their bags at the transfer airport.
  • Guests are advised that they must collect any baggage, clear Immigration and Customs and re-check their bags in locally for any onward flight on a separate ticket
  • Guests must have the appropriate travel documents to enter the country at the respective transfer point. Any guest who does not have the appropriate travel documents to enter the country at the transfer airport shall be denied travel
  • Etihad shall not be responsible for the repatriation and associated costs and/or interim expenses for any guest who fails to collect their baggage at the transfer point and chooses to continue their journey without it.
