The Amara Charitable Trust Fundraising Walk 2023

Travel Affairs Team joined The Amara Charitable Trust for a fundraising walk on Sat 10th June 2023 at Karura Forest.

Mountain View Primary School

Located in Lukenya, Machakos County in Kenya, the school started in 2012 with one teacher and 40 students studying under a tree. The Amara Charitable Trust, with the full help and support of Travel Affairs, constructed 3 classrooms, 3 pit latrines and a small office. AMARA also completed and refurbished 2 classrooms started by the parents.

This is a very dry and dissolute area and Amara assisted the school with water tank and initiated an uji (porridge) program and the uji flour is supplied to the school on a regular basis. We have also donated them with lots of text books and story books and the children received it by great enthusiasm the population have tremendously increased from 40 students to 190 students in 3 years.

Amara has also provided school with games and sports equipment, encourages physical activity.
