Tusker Craig, the Gentle Giant of Amboseli

Craig is known as the gentle giant in Amboseli National Park and is one of the last super tuskers left in the world at 51 years of age. He has big tusks that weigh over 45kg each and remains highly guarded by KWS and Maasai warriors.

Craig is the cousin to the late big tusker, Tim, who was one of Africa’s last remaining giant ‘tusker’ elephants. Tim died in February 2020 in Amboseli National Park at the age of 50 from natural causes. He was known for his long tusks which almost reached the ground, each weighing up to 45kg.
