The Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club (KKCC) held a fund-raising golf event at Sigona Golf Club on Friday 22 September. The main purpose of the event was to provide support for the Club’s Development Programme.

KKCC Development Programme

Throughout its history, the Club has focused strongly on youth development. The Club runs a well-organised and respected Development Programme for youth cricketers in Kenya. The Programme has grown to be the only one of its kind in Kenya, in that it is focused on young cricketers drawn from outside the Club’s membership base and predominantly from deprived areas of the city. It is fully paid for by the Club and operates for the future benefit of Kenyan cricket generally as well as for the Club. Many alumni of the Development Programme have gone on to represent Kenya on the international stage.

Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club

The KKCC was founded at a meeting held at Nairobi Club on 8th October, 1927. The Club’s objectives as outlined in its Rules are:

  • The playing and the furtherance of the game of cricket in Kenya
  • To encourage the development of youth cricket in Kenya
  • To arrange KKCC tours in other countries and visits to Kenya by similar bodies.

KKCC’s vision is to be a club that attracts good quality cricketers from diverse backgrounds to play cricket in a friendly but competitive spirit, that respects the Club’s history and traditions, and that maintains high standards in all that it does both on and off the field of play Travel Affairs is proud to have been one of the sponsors of this worthwhile fund-raising event.
