Economy Camping

Ideal for those for whom the wildlife safari experience is more important than the accommodation, budget safaris are designed to offer the same high quality wildlife safari experience as provided by the top-end safari camps, but at a hugely reduced price by staying in small basic adventure camps (“real camping”). At each safari camp site you have service staff who do all the work associated with camping, like washing up, heating water for showers, doing the cooking and serving the food. Each tent has its own private bathroom in a cubicle located behind the tent with flush toilet, wash basin and safari shower. An experienced safari cook is at the camp to prepare the daily meals. The camp is hosted by the safari guide.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

Transfer by road to Mara, leaving Nairobi at 09h00 and arriving before 13h00 at the camp. You will be shown to your tent followed by lunch and then relax in the camp before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 2: Masai Mara

Wake up at dawn and enjoy an early game drive in the conservancy on the lookout for the big five cats, returning to the camp for a late breakfast followed by an escorted nature walk and then lunch in the afternoon enjoy another game drive in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy with a night drive as you head back to camp driving in the dark with a spotlight for the chance to see the nocturnal animals. Later dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara

An early breakfast followed by a full day game viewing in the Mara Reserve with picnic lunch. Return in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Final short early morning game drive in the conservancy followed by breakfast and then leave camp for the 4-5 hour leisurely drive back to Nairobi.
