Kavita, our Senior Outbound Consultant, recently was invited on a familiarisation trip to the Maldives for 4 nights. She shared the experience with us:
Maldives is a very unique destination in regard to its climate, geographical layout, and culture. It is a magical destination with beautiful beaches and clear waters. Scattered across the Indian Ocean, the Maldives is a destination where dreams are made. Comprising 26 coral atolls and over 1,000 islands, this idyllic archipelago is known for its crystal-clear waters, powdery white-sand beaches, and vibrant marine life.
Maldives is not only for honeymooners/couples. It can also accommodate families & elderly people. Hotels offer all types of cuisine so one cannot go wrong with specific dietary requirements.
Maldives has numerous resorts that can cater for all type of travellers ie from 3 Star to 5 Star deluxe. The best time to visit Maldives is between Nov – Apr. May to Oct is the wet season (monsoons). During this time, it is low season and rates are more attractive with most resorts having special offers.
Kenyan nationals and most other nationals do not need visas to Maldives. Departing from Kenya, a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate is required. One also needs to fill an IMUGA form online which is required both at entry and departure. To get to Maldives from Nairobi one can fly with Qatar Airlines or Emirates.
